FARMER Jacks farm shop is on a mission – to
spread the word about good, fresh food and
where it comes from.
The seed of the idea grew from three
farmers who set up shop at Arreton
Barns nearly two years ago.

farmers Ben and David Brown
and dairy farmer Jill Cawood of
Calbourne Classics are passionate
about good, local food.
They are equipped with a
mobile kitchen which they take
out and about to give cookery
demonstrations using their own
produce and that of other island

producers.
Stuart Pierce, who farms his pigs
over at Godshill, says: “The whole
ethos of the shop is about local
farmers and buying from the
producers.
“The difference between us and the
supermarkets is that we go to all
the different, local producers. It can
get quite complicated as it’s not the
simplest option by any means but
we think it’s worth it.”
