Dancers had a ball!
R
yde Extreme Performers provided an
unusual welcome for guests arriving
at the annual May Ball, with a dramatic
display of fire breathing on the lawn of the
Channel View Hotel, Shanklin.
The event was attended by almost 100 people
and raised close to £1,500 for R.A.B.I (Royal
Agricultural Benevolent Institute) and RIWAS
(Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society).
The evening included a humorous speech
by the Island’s new High Sheriff, Ron Holland
– whose Kemp Hill Farm had provided the
succulent beef featured on the evening’s menu.
Chris Philpot provided entertainment during
dessert with his illusions, and Joey and the
Jivers rounded off a perfect evening with music
for dancing.
