Field Course Coordination & Hosting We can be as involved as you would like - from leading seminars on tropical marine ecology to organizing activities and hosting as your personal tour guide. We take away the anxiety of planning a field course so you can enjoy the experience with your students. Easy Access to Diving & Snorkeling We can accommodate divers and snorkelers, or a mixed group of both. We explore the west and south coasts of Puerto Rico, giving your students the opportunity to compare coral reef habitats in two very different ecosystems. We have direct access to shore diving locations on our home reef at the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve in Rincon. We can also arrange a day trip to the off-shore marine protected area, Desecheo, which has been the highlight of every field course thus far. 3 Small Group Sizes Allow For Focused Training We arrange accommodations just minutes walking distance f rom the reserve in Rincon We believe the best field experience results from direct interaction with each and every student. Based on past courses, the optimal group size is around 11-12 students. This size allows for us to assist each student with field training and closely monitor progress. Every student has the opportunity to experience every aspect of the course in its fullest potential. Small groups also allow us to explore more remote excursion sites and showcase some of the hidden beauty of the island that is typically off limits to large tour groups. We coordinate with the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez to access boats and diving f acilities f or sites in La Parguera. 4
