Guna started his musical journey at the tender age of 16 in 1977. He was the
runner up in a talent competition singing the great song Velli Salangaigal. I
then met him as a judge for the competition. His passion and perseverence
to learn and experiment technology applications for music is well known.
He continuously tapped on the vast opportunities that came his way and
composed to date, more than 200 TV serial songs along with backround
score Furthermore his attachment at AR Rahman’s studios provided him up
to date technological knowledge and skills for composing and creating songs
with commercial value. He is a life long learner and an innovative trainer.
His ambition is to progress as an enterprenuer using technology to assist the
young generations embrace language and the arts and thereby help preserve
our roots and identity.
His many accolades include winning the NDP song writing competition in
2005 and the National Arts Council (NAC)’s Presentation and Participation
Grant and Extended Play Production Grant in 2014. Today after 35 years
Guna has developed the courage to become the founder of INNOVATIVE
INDIAN ARTS CENTRE, a Non -Profit LLC that can nurture, develop and
educate people about Indian arts using innovative technology.
Guna has always been a very humble and simple human being greatly in love
with music. I always tend to meet him on my visits to Little India and the topic
of conversation is always “music, music, music” with an update on his work
and research!
It is my pleasure and privilege to be present here at this launch. My heartfelt
congratulations and blessings to Guna on his achievements. A man true to his
art and dreams. Well done Guna !
