Keratosis pilaris ( KP ) – This disorder is extremely common and affects nearly 50 % of the population . 17 It causes small bumps to occur on the outer upper arms , buttocks , or abdomen . It is also known as follicular keratitis . Clients with KP may call it “ bumpy skin ” or “ goose skin .” Sometimes the bumps become inflamed and may also itch . Associated inflammation that is more severe may lead to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation ( PIH ).
Keratosis pilaris is inherited as an autosomal dominant with incomplete penetrance , meaning that only one copy of the gene is required for the disorder to be inherited . 18 It is emotionally

Although this condition is never associated with severe medical outcomes , it may be frustrating to improve . In the case of KP , treatment centers around exfoliation and moisturization . 20
Several regimens using iS Clinical products give excellent results with keratosis pilaris :
