If you are technology inclined and like wearables , I recommend the Oura ring . I love my Oura ring ! It not only measures my sleep quality ( detailing % of REM sleep and deep sleep ), but also my heart rate variability ( HRV ), ultimately computing all the measured values into a ‘ readiness ’ score . Wearing an Oura ring is a great way to track sleep quantity and quality .
To improve zzz ’ s , keep the following sleep hygiene tips in mind :
• Maintain a consistent sleep routine
• Avoid caffeinated drinks after 2pm ( caution : for some people , this is not early enough )
• Turn off electronic devices and screens at least 1 hour before bedtime
• Sleep in a dark room
• Avoid eating too close to bedtime ( allow at least 3 hours )
• Keep your bedroom cool ( 65-68 degrees )

The big idea is that WELLthier is better , and you can make it better ! In a WELLthier state , you not only feel better every day , but will also do better when faced with a health challenge . WELLthier bodies are more resilient . They bounce back from injury or health challenges more easily . I can think of NO better example than the pandemic . People with rich WELLth accounts have better functioning immune systems . Consequently , they have an easier time enduring disease ( like Covid ) and have better recovery outcomes . Conversely , as we have seen during the pandemic , those with comorbidities ( the presence of one or more additional conditions ) sadly fare much worse in terms of disease severity , duration , and even survival .

While any improvement to any of these categories will add to your WELLth , just like with financial investing , it is wise to diversify your efforts .

The pandemic has affected us all in so many ways . As a health coach , it has really motivated me to double time my efforts in helping people become WELLthier and more resilient by adding to their WELLth !
Never has it been more important than now to be proactive with our health !
