Home peel pads may contain any of the resurfacing agents found within in-office peels . However , they must be mild enough and safe enough for home use . The typical trichloroacetic acid ( TCA ) peels are an example of a peel that is too deep and is unsafe for home use ; it should be administered only by a skincare professional .
Similar to their in-office sister products , home peel pads most commonly contain alpha hydroxy acids ( AHAs ) 4 , beta hydroxy acids ( BHAs ) 5 , or a combination of these .
