The purpose of the consultation is for you to get to know the patient and for the patient to get to know you . A good consultation process also facilitates a good rapport between the provider and the patient , ultimately leading to mutual trust in a short time span .
As a provider , you must feel secure and relaxed in your knowledge and be able to relay this to the patient in a confident and competent manner . It is essential to always remain professional and have a positive attitude when communicating with your patients .
