Introducing Active Peel System | by Dr . Charlene DeHaven
acid is a small molecule with rapid penetration . It is an efficient linear resurfacer . Mixed fruit acids contain a variety of other AHAs from botanical sources for linear resurfacing . AHAs have many uses in cosmetic preparations .
Beta hydroxy acid ( BHA ) 2 – Salix alba , willow bark extract , assists the AHAs in desquamation and loosens intercellular cement between keratinocytes . It is highly anti-inflammatory , a characteristic that benefits a wide number of conditions from acne to aging . Its lipid solubility allows penetration into sebum to cleanse debris thoroughly yet gently from within hair follicles . The AHA plus BHA combination is known to be an especially effective one for acne .

It contains gallic acid and tannins , some of the same beneficial molecules found in green tea that exhibit anti-inflammatory , anti-aging , and anti-neoplastic activities . It also acts as a natural astringent and has been well known in traditional medicine for its many benefits . 4
Step 2 Key Ingredients
Copper tripeptide-1 5 -- One of the body ’ s emergency response molecules , this bio-identical active dramatically increases collagen synthesis . It is involved in healing and regeneration at all levels .
Extremozymes 6 – These enzymes , derived from plants thriving in very extreme environments , have application in protecting skin from environmental stressors .
Pentylene glycol – This glycol , sourced from sugarcane , is a humectant 7 with antimicrobial activity . 8 It supports the skin barrier .
