Earlier in my career , I felt I needed to do everything , so I didn ’ t miss out on a potential client . I waxed , I sugared , I learned eyelash extensions , I did makeup , and , of course , facials , but I realized that doing it all doesn ’ t make you more desirable ; it ’ s doing what
I ’ m here to tell you that you don ’ t need to try too hard to stand out because we are already individually so unique , and we all have different ways of doing the same thing . you love . When you do what you love , you will naturally be more desirable , busy , and successful , and you will attract the right people as clients , the ones who search for experts instead of price shopping . Figure out what you love and develop those skills , and don ’ t be hard on yourself for not doing it all . Your clients will end up thanking you for being a master of your craft and referring them to other providers . Make friends in the industry to whom you can refer your clients for the treatments you don ’ t offer . This sets you apart as not only an expert , but it builds trust with your client and camaraderie with your colleagues . Once I got over needing to do it all , I knew I wanted to focus on my hands-on skills : how could I make extractions as painless as possible , and how could I incorporate a relaxing and sensorial experience while delivering results ? I ’ m a firm believer that my touch is my calling card . Once I figured that out , I never looked back ; I ’ ve remained busy and HAPPY because I ’ m doing what I love and doing those services for which clients want to come to me . Figure out what you ’ re good at and run with it .
