The dialog around sunscreen is complex and somewhat controversial . Varying schools of thought dance around the sunscreen narrative , establishing their professional opinion regarding the subject . But , at the end of the day , what is the best sunscreen to recommend to our patients and clients ? My thought is , the sunscreen they will use ! SPF is the most crucial skincare product we all use , yet compliance with sunscreens is sometimes the worst . Think about yourself , a skincare professional . Did you apply your sunscreen this morning , have you re-applied per the application instructions throughout the day , are you compliant with indoor sunscreen use , and have you applied sunscreen to all exposed areas on the body today ? In reality , even as a skin care professional , you probably fall short of comprehensive sunscreen application
compliance . Why is this ? For each individual , there will be dynamic reasons , but some of the most common are : re-application when wearing make-up is disruptive or non-elegant , we forget , the feeling of “ too much ” sunscreen is undesirable , the skin can be sensitive or break out when too much product is applied , and the list goes on . ne of the best solutions to overcome the excuses with sunscreen compliance is to have various sunscreen offerings for different reasons .
