CSBP PROLOGUE
The event officially started with a Show & Shine
at Esperance Independent Tyres at 12pm where
competitors welcomed the public to view their cars
and an overview of the event was given.
But after all the excitement it was Peter Mihailoff
(Hoon) and Ben Gurney in car 02 that set fastest time
to beat of 12:05:25 for both laps.
Competitors left Ironman Headquarters at 6:30pm
and convoyed into town to the CSBP Compound on
Sheldon Road where a bunted course was set.
UNLEASH
the ponies...
Before lining up, all racecars were to go on the
weighbridge to determine the start order - heaviest
car to the lightest. Colm Arthur (heaviest car and first
to start) wasn‘t wasting anytime as he drove past the
speed alert sign which lit up with
THE PONIES“.
A SMOOTH PROLOGUE STAGE...
meant the competitors could be escorted
through the McDonalds’s Drive-Thru... the last
time they’d see takeaway
food for a week.
“UNLEASH
MAKE SURE YOUR SPARE PARTS ARE SECURED...
Colm Arthur from DAMM Racing “Unleashed the Ponies” on this stage and later realised he
had lost his spare winch motor at some stage during the two laps of the course. It wasn’t until
Dan McAdam from Ruff Road Media posted a photo to Facebook that we realised he had taken
the photo at the exact time the winch motor was being ejected from the back of the car.
