ROADRUNNER
ROCKS
SUNDAY,10 August 2014
A slightly modified version of a stage held back in
2012, SS07: Road Runner Rocks was to include a
winch up a rock face on the waters edge. Delays
getting competitors to the stage meant that the tide
was already well on it‘s way. Modifications were
made and before long a new winch wall was created.
Hoon broke cvs and axles and had to be towed back
to Headquarters, copping a 100 point penalty for
outside assistanct.
Kyle Wohling (car #04), racing in Project Pink had
winch problems on the first winch wall and also had
to return to Esperance.
With teams now ready to go, one by one they took on
the rocks and dunes in a race along the beach, down
massive sand dunes, over rocks and up sand winch
walls.
It was Delich and Bartlett (car #08) who were quickest
with a time of 09:04 over Chris Hummer and Neil
Cooper (car #33) with a time of 10:36.
