and email. Information goes out on school
websites and social media. It’s 5:15 a.m., and
already on this Monday morning, four staff
members have been driving the roads, and
two other staff members are communicating
the message of the school closure for this day.
Depending on conditions it is also decided if it
will be a workday for staff.
Weather related delays, early dismissals,
and closings are decisions made with the
collaboration of outside agencies and many
departments within Iredell-Statesville Schools.
The safety of our staff and students remains
at the front of the decision making. While
these calls are difficult, and we understand
that areas of our very long county may not
experience every weather situation the same
way, we are ONE system. Please know that
just as your children are your treasures,
Iredell-Statesville Schools understands that
we are responsible for 21,000 treasures. That
is something that we take very seriously.
