The change in schools in 1948 - Home chores
We start learning about home economics in school at the 7th grade.
Then we found out that Finland was the first country to have free school food.
Free school food was started to serve in 1948.
The law changed families lifes and the environment in Finland.
It’s interesting that free food is also in Sweden.
‘’We visited the high school in Mäntsälä and we tried to discover more about school food. We think that food is usually healthy and the students can choose from many dishes and drinks.’’ This was said by all the Czech students.
Students can eat five times per a week in school once in a day. The dining area is a nice place and it’s a place to all the students to meet.
The school food options is normal food and vegetarian food and everyone can choose what they want. Same with the drinks.
With home economics it’s not always equal between women and men. In the school when we start learning it usually girls have to do almost everything but usually the boys do something too.
One finnish student called Ellie said this kind of quote ‘’ When I’m eating at school I’m feeling like a part of the students in my school.’’
