The way to stop starvation?

The population is growing, and food is getting harder to get. Eating the way, we are eating now impacts the climate change. That is why we need new sources of food. New foods such as insects and pulled oats are high in protein and are more ecological to produce.

Insects are being used in bread, meatballs, flour, protein bars, pasta and chocolate. Besides these new innovations of insect food is being made all the time. Insect food is mainly ready-made because people don’t want to cook them themselves.

Insect food is not a big thing yet, but it’s

getting bigger because we need different

alternatives. At the moment Mexico is

the leading insect consuming country.

They eat more than 500 different insect

species.

Insect food is better than meat because they need less water and food and they grow much faster than other animals. Besides that, insects are also much easier to transport and there is no fear about them escaping of dying since there are billions of them. They also produce less methane than other farm animals, which is better for the environment.

Pulled oats which are a plant-based protein source are another good option for meat. They are made out of water, oats, pea protein and bean protein.
