The Sanctuary Choir is preparing music for Georgia Heritage
( February 12), the Missions Conference( February 23), Maundy Thursday( April 13), and Easter( April 16). The Youth Choir trip( April 21-23) and the Kirkin’ service( May 7) will soon follow. These are all large events in the musical life of this church.
During the Missions Conference, the Sanctuary Choir will sing for the Thursday evening service, and the Women’ s Choir will sing for the Friday evening service.
The Sanctuary Choir is in great need of additional choir members. The alto and tenor sections in particular are in need of additional support. Several choir members have moved away, and some are a part of the new church plant in Bluffton, so we are experiencing a loss in those sections in particular.
If you are interested in joining choir, please join us on Wednesday evenings for preparation, 6:30-8:30 p. m. I hope you will prayerfully consider joining us.
The Youth Choir, which meets at 4:00 p. m. on Sunday afternoon, is hard at work. We are preparing several challenging anthems and are looking forward to singing them in the near future. A Youth Choir trip is being planned for April 21-23. Saturday, April 22, will be a fun day, and arrangements have been made to sing at Sovereign Grace Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC, on Sunday morning, April 23. If your son or daughter is interested in the Youth Choir and would enjoy this trip, they need to be attending rehearsals NOW. There are only 12 rehearsals from February 5 through April 16, and choristers may only miss two of those rehearsals to attend the trip. On Sunday, February 12, our rehearsal is cancelled due to the Winter Retreat. All young people from 6th grade up are welcome.

The Handbell Choir will begin rehearsals per future notice.
Hymn of the Month CD and booklets will be mailed soon. Please enable your child to listen and learn these Hymns and Psalms. It is valuable to have these words running through your child’ s mind. These texts will be a source of comfort and strength to our children for many years to come. If you do not receive a booklet or need an extra one, please let me know.
Chapel Choir continues to meet on Sunday evenings from 7:00-7:45. ALL 2 nd( if reading)– 5 th grade children are encouraged to attend Chapel Choir. Your child’ s attendance is appreciated! On May 20, the Chapel Choir will have their annual Summer Waves outing. Children must attend at least 9 full rehearsals in order to participate in this outing. Of the 15 weeks before May 20, the children may miss 6 rehearsals.
On March 12, the Bryan College Choir will be singing for our morning worship service.
If you are interested in hosting students from this choir, please contact me. Both Wesley and Rachel Garnett are graduates of this college and were participants of this college choir. Sleeping arrangements, transportation to church, and Sunday morning breakfast are the only requirements. Please call me at 596-8569.
Please continue to pray for all of our choirs as we prepare for Sunday services from week to week.

of armies or the exercise of political control, but through the power of the pulpit alone. How could it have been that the St. Giles congregation could tenderly urge Knox to return to Edinburgh in 1572,“ that once again your voice might be heard among us”( 306)?
In the end, Knox’ s greatness comes through Dawson’ s portrait. Knox, as much or more as Calvin and the Westminster Puritans, was a champion of what became known as the regulative principle of worship. We in the English speaking world who are Reformed owe as much to his courageous refusal to compromise, his inflexible insistence on principle, his absolute commitment to the Lordship of Christ over His church as we do to any other human agent.
