and the whiskey flying through the air like you do when
you’re playing it live.” We had played the song for about a
year before we recorded it. So we had this idea to do
what Aerosmith did with “Train Kept a Rollin”--where
the second half of the song is live. So we recorded it at the
intersection in Grand Rapids, in front of 1,500 people,
and that’s what the second half of that recording is. So in
the video, it cuts to that show with video from the show
we were recording. So it all came together kind of nicely.
You know, I called around to the local farms--it is kind of
a working man’s anthem. It’s our anthem. We work hard
and we party hard. So that’s why we had Mitch out there
milking cows. And we also wanted to show what our
home town area was like. You know, we were in the
welding shop--those were all guys I graduated with and it
turned out really cool.
