Scotty J: Let me ask you...I'm assuming you do most of the writing? Jade Starling: I'm a co-writer. I'm collaborating with WHEY COOLER from PRETTY POISON. He's still my songwriting partner and he did produce the “Captive” album. And then, of course, we've been working with LEE DAGGER from BIMBO JONES on two thirds of the album. The other songs we did with DJ LASZLO. The current song we co-wrote with DJ Laszlo from Vegas. We also work with FRANK DONA from France. It's definitely more international. I mean, Lee is from England. Laszlo is originally from Hungary. He's an up and coming producer as well. So, our first collaboration with him that we released really seems to be performing. Not only on the Billboard charts, but on other charts as well--particularly with radio--and that's where we want it. We also have some Euro stuff coming in and we're getting ready to do a radio campaign in Europe. With the success we've had here, we're now going to take it overseas. Scotty J: Well, I'll tell you what--overseas seems to be where it's at for the entire music scene across the board. Jade Starling: Oh absolutely. That's where it started. It's been their mainstream type of music for many years. Recently in the last couple years, the EDM movement has sort of conquered the United States. It's definitely a world music at this point. Scotty J: Now when you're creating these songs, are you ever thinking this is going to be your hit? Obviously a lot of people are going to identify with Jade Starling and Pretty Poison based on a pretty huge iconic song such as “Catch Me I'm Falling”. I bring that song up to people and they're like, “Oh, yeah”…and so many people identify with that particular song, at least from my generation. It's been featured in numerous soundtracks of movies and was just so popular. When you're writing your new music, do you ever think, “Yeah, this is going to be another one of those iconic songs”? Jade Starling: You know one can only hope. It's hard. It's really hard to gauge, because even back when we did “Catch Me” we had no idea.
