ION INDIE MAGAZINE September 2015, Volume 16 | Page 174
Story by Kiki Plesha • Photography by J.B. Bridges
ION Indie Magazine spent a day of “fun in the sun” chock full o’ bands, bikes, babes, beards and admittedly…a few beers. And oh yeah-don’t forget those CARS! Some of the most bombastic, bodacious, utterly badass—okay, I’m in a “B” state of mind. But why not? We
were at the B3 BAR AND GRILL in beautiful Austell, Georgia!!!
The event was the ROCKABILLY RECKONING. JB BRIDGES and I were treated to some righteously in-your-face Rockabilly/Psychobilly
music and a total immersion of this culture. The bands making the scene were THE GO-DEVILS, ATOMIC BOOGIE and MCPHERSON
STRUTS--who took to the outdoor stage--and later, inside the spacious venue…we were movin’ and groovin’ to the musical stylings of THE
KRANK DADDIES, PSYCHO DEVILLES and THE KOFFIN KATS.
Talk about “people watching”…it was a bumper
crop of bearded boys and beautiful babes in their
best rock and roll finery! And the music! Upright
basses thumpin’, guitars squealin’ and drummers
driving the beat, that started at the toes and
reverberate up through the eyeballs.
I’d like to extend a huge ION Indie Magazine shoutout of gratitude to the sponsors of ROCKABILLY
RECKONING…you helped turn out an event that
music-lovers and bike/auto aficionados alike
reveled in. We were delighted to share in this
momentous event with some of the warmest and
most welcoming cats and chicks, like, EVER! A
special thanks to CARLOS BICKERS, proprietor of
the B3 BAR AND GRILL, STEVE MURRIN--THE
American Biker Lawyer and our good friend, J.B.

issue of ION).
