Twelve Bars Stars

Although ION Indie Magazine receives
thousands of artist submissions each month
for consideration, the vast majority of them
are in the Metal and Rock genre. Not that
we don't feature other type of artists--they
just don't seem to be as plentiful in their
submissions. Partnering with ReverbNation
has opened a wonderful door of opportunity
for other artists and genres, and this
month’s selection for “Twelve Bars Stars”
comes from that source. Of the several
thousand submissions this month from
ReverbNation, I am proud to feature THE
LAURA CHEADLE FAMILY BLUES BAND.
They are the best of the best, and as would
luck would have it for Blues fans, are an
exceptional example of a Blues band.
Family is included in the title because it is a
family band. JAMES “PAPA” CHEADLE,
the patriarch of the family, has played and
recorded with familiar names like DJ JAZZY
JEFF, DONE CORNELL, THE FOUR
ACES, GROVER WASHINGTON JR., THE
SOUL SURVIVORS, JACO PASTORIUS
and PETER ERSKINE—to name a few.
