AMERICAN BEAUTIES INDIE/FOLK-ROCK/FOLK-POP • BOSTON, MA Photo credit: Jeff Allison AMERICAN BEAUTIES is an original independent folk-rock and folk-pop band from Somerville, Massachusetts, whose music is reminiscent of the LA, San Francisco, and East Coast folk-rock bands of the late 1960s and early 1970s, mixing both contemporary and roots influences. Their members include: MICHAEL GRAY (guitar, harmonica, vocals), JONAS KAHN (guitar), JUSTIN KOLACK (bass), JEFF ALLISON (drums, percussion, vocals) and AMBER CASARES (vocals). Their debut record "Too Worn To Mend," was independently released in October 2012 and was recorded at ICE STATION in Medford, Massachusetts, by Grammy award-winning engineer DUCKY CARLISLE. No stranger to the festival scene, American Beauties have played regionally at OKTOBERFEST HARVARD SQUARE, CAPE MAY SINGER SONGWRITER CONFERENCE, BLOCK ISLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL, KEENE MUSIC FESTIVAL and NRT HARVEST FAIR, and appeared in both 2015 and 2016 at THE BLACK POTATOE FESTIVAL in Clinton, New Jersey. The band will be featured at “Massachusetts Day” on September 22, 2016 at THE BIG E FESTIVAL in Springfield, Massachusetts. Locally, American Beauties have performed at the following venues: SALLY O’BRIEN’S, MIDWAY CAFÉ, PLOUGH AND STARS, ATWOOD’S TAVERN and ST. JOHN’S COFFEEHOUSE. American Beauties just recently performed at the HARD ROCK CAFÉ in Boston for “The Last Band Standing”--which was presented by THE NEW ENGLAND MUSIC AWARDS. They were also selected to play the INTERNATIONAL POP OVERTHROW event in Boston at PA’s LOUNGE--which is held between November 9 and 12, 2016. Visit American Beauties pages at:
