Music by SCREAMING FOR SILENCE “Varsity Blues” Interview by Eric (E-Rox) Littman/Extreme Metal Worx• Introduction by JP Rawk Omaha, Nebraska’s favorite sons, SCREAMING FOR SILENCE, comprised of ZEB CHRISTENSEN on vocals, DANNY IRWIN on guitar and backing vocals, CASEY NEWSOM, the blazing lead guitarist, MATT TATROE on drums and percussion and MIKE FRIESE on bass, have been touring the country, slaying it night after night, in support of their sophomore release, “The King is Crowned”. I had the pleasure of seeing them perform for a packed house at a small club, as well as play on the ERNIE BALL STAGE at this year’s ROCK ON THE RANGE. The club show at HARD TIMES in Hagerstown, MD, was one of the most memorable in my many years, as they shared the stage with ANOTHER LOST YEAR and PROSPECT HILL. But the ROTR performance…there was something about how the crowd was immediately engaged and remained captivated throughout the entire set. While they may have nearly 20,000 all natural Facebook “likes”, they are not exactly a household name. After leaving that performance in the rain at ROTR, I felt certain that this band will be a household name. Our good friend ERIC (E-Rox) LITTMAN, from EXTREME METAL WORX--one of our great broadcast partners from SCORPION RADIO GROUP--had an opportunity to interview S4S. And we at ION wanted to get this into print, because if you are a fan of Hard Rock, this is a very diverse, mega talented band that you NEED to know about. Go out and buy the CD and join the bandwagon. They left a spot open for you. Eric (E-ROX): What's up guys? Thanks for taking the time to sit down with me and have this interview. “The King Is Crowned” CD dropped earlier this year. How much fun was it to write and record that CD? Danny: It was a blast! We all had the time of our lives recording "The King Is Crowned" CD. We were touring while writing the CD, and we'd tour out to California record a few songs and then get right back out there and continue the tour. It was in January of this year when we finally got to release it. Just the overall process was so much fun and amazing. Eric: Your tour schedule has been grueling and you have managed to hit some major cities and venues. What has the overall reaction been to the "The King Is Crowned" CD? Danny: The reaction has been great by our fans as well as people or fans that are new to Screaming For Silence. We've been on the road the past 3 years doing consistently 175 to 200 shows a year building our fan base and in return, calling a lot of these cities our “homes away from home”--and the experience has been overwhelming.
