Interview with St. Caine’s Photo credit: Scotty J Interview by Scotty J • www.rocktitan.tv There are musicians that simply go through the motions of being in a band, and then there are those artists that live for their craft. CHRIS HAMILTON, drummer for SAINT CAINE, is such an artist. Not only is Chris with Saint Caine, but he also is the drummer for west coast based, DOWNSET and he has his personally founded band GIVETHEMROPE. The music and style of each band may contrast, however, the passion and intensity that Chris brings to the table is unwavering. Drum kits literally and figuratively take a pounding when Hamilton goes to work, and it's impossible for the audience not to recognize his presence on stage. With Saint Caine fresh out of the studio and preparing to launch their new record, I had a chance to catch up with Chris and get caught up to speed with one of the more dynamic rogue Rock bands in the music scene. SJ: I am here with Chris Hamilton who is one of the most intense and energized drummers in the entire industry. I know that's pretty much a description that precedes you wherever you go. Right now I know you have a lot going on with Saint Caine--talk to me… CH: Right now we're just finishing up a new record that I'm super proud of, and we're in the final mixing stages getting ready to master it in the next couple weeks. We're targeting November 20, 2015 for its release if everything goes according to plan. SJ: How long have you guys been working on this? CH: We’ve probably been working on this record, in little bits and pieces, for about a year--since I got back from doing the Downset tour. We started going in to a little more high gear and started to focus on which songs we were going to work on and record and all that stuff. So I'd say we put in almost a year between recording it, writing it, and now we're in the mixing/mastering phase--so a good year. SJ: Now for people out there that haven't heard of Saint Caine before, how did you guys all come together? I know all of you guys have a pretty rich musical history with other bands. I know that all of the members of Saint Caine have really “been there”. So how did you guys form?
