On August 19th, here in El Paso, CATTLE
DECAPITATION invaded TRICKY FALLS with
their "North American Extinction Tour"--and
using the word "Invaded" is an
understatement! They just blew the roof off
the joint! This is a "Death Metal Progressive
Grind" band that hails from San Diego,
California, headed up by front man TRAVIS
RYAN--and make no mistake, is a sight to see
on stage. They did a few things while
preforming that, in my opinion, were straight
up METAL! Songs like "Manufactured
Extinct", "The Prophets of Loss" and
"Your Disposal" had this crowd worked up
into a frenzy. It reminded me of someone
pouring blood in the water with a school of
sharks…it was a madhouse!

To my disappointment, upon gaining entrance into the venue, I saw there was no barricade. This is a huge game
changer for me if I want photos from up front, but being the committed photojournalist I am, I posted up at the foot
of stage and as the evening wore on, I end up with a mosh pit on my back trying to shoot. It isn't the first time that
this has happened and certainly won't be the last!
If this type of music is what you enjoy, you just can't go wrong with Cattle Decapitation, top drawer Death Metal-100%! They will be back here on October 23rd, opening for none other than CANNIBAL CORPSE. As I said, if you’re
a fan of serious Metal music, this line up is second to none. And hopefully, they put up the barricade because I'll be
covering this show as well. Barricade or not, I will be right up front firing that camera!
