It isn’t very often we get the opportunity to do an interview together, but KIKI PLESHA (ION Indie
Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief), through the wonders of social media, was able to join me on this
interview with the powerhouse band, DEFENDING CAIN, from the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.
We even got to throw in a great question from one of our readers, 15 year old TYLER FERENCIC of
Chambersburg, PA. The band consists of BRANDON WRIGHT (vocals), JEREMY DOVE (guitar), JASON
HURST (guitar), MIKE SNYDER (drums) and L.G. THOMPSON (bass guitar). Enjoy the read and the

Kiki: What is the best piece of advice you ever received?
Brandon Wright: I got a great piece of advice from my dad, who is a musician as well. Anything I put
my hands or mind to, I need to visualize it, claim it, perceive it, and never let anybody tell me I can’t
do it--which basically the same thing as the movie “Pursuit of Happiness”, but this was way before
that.
Jeremy: Never stop learning and never think you’re the best.
Mike: It may be cliché, but my parents always told me to just be myself.
Jason: My father telling me to never settle for good enough. You can always be better.
Kiki: If you could give advice to an upcoming artist, what would it be?
Brandon: Get a real job. Because you will be broke. (All laughing)
Kiki: What is the significance behind the name Defending Cain?
