I n d i a n a p o l i s b a s e d O U T L AW S &
MOONSHINE, comprised of BEAU VAN,
vocalist/guitars, CHRIS VAN, bass guitar,
MIKE BACK, vocals/guitars and ERIC
PIPER, drums/percussion, bring us a brand of
music that may not be genre specific. As a kid I
grew up on many different kinds of music
myself--I see the many influences that make
Outlaws & Moonshine tick. Blues, Rock,
Southern Rock, Outlaw Country, Country
Rock, Southern-fried Rock--it’s all there. For
that reason, can’t place them in a specific genre. I find that they will have broad appeal
to fans of bands like LYNYRD SKYNYRD, DAVID ALLAN COE, HANK
WILLIAMS JR., BRANTLEY GILBERT, BLAKE SHELTON--and many others you
have heard of. The one thing I know is they are not just an updated version of an old
scene. There is something refreshingly new about them. I could easily see them on
Rock and Country stations and cracking both charts as well, simultaneously.
With their first music video, “Whiskey”, garnering more than 25,000 views in four
short months, you’d think that would be a nice start. While that may be the case, it was
merely a table-setter for their new video for “Hey Y’all”--which has encompassed
more than 32,000 views in only a week! They are a band on the rise, compiling tour
dates quickly. They had a great producer that worked

new CD, “1919”, which was released October 16 . Outlaws & Moonshine, are backed
by a strong management team that is working tirelessly to put them in front of more
crowds, fresh faces and now a very deserving spot on the cover of ION Indie
Magazine.
I feel fortunate to have had an opportunity to interview this up and coming band
comprised of veteran musicians. They are the real McCoy. I hope you enjoy the
interview and music as much as I enjoyed my conversation with them.
