LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Music by ASHLEY WINELAND “Family Business”
This November issue boasts a feature interview with the multidimensional Southern Rock band OUTLAWS & MOONSHINE. ION
Journalist JERE PERRY (aka JP RAWK) conducts the interview and provides a peek into this bodacious band and what makes
them the REAL deal!
ION took a jaunt to the Lone Star State and moseyed over to the REO PALM ISLE in Longview, Texas—the legendary venue on
whose stage some of Country’s greatest stars have shimmered. The likes of ELVIS PRESLEY, WILLIE NELSON, JERRY LEE LEWIS,
LORETTA LYNN, HANK WILLIAMS, JR., MIRANDA LAMBERT and LEE GREENWOOD have all appeared at the Reo. The folks at
the Reo could not have been more warm and welcoming, and rolled out the red carpet—as well as a generous dose of some
“Southern Hospitality”--for myself and T&T Management and Booking Agency CEO, TONY SALDANO. The occasion was the
appearance at the historical hotspot by Country’s rising star, ASHLEY WINELAND--where she was the headliner on Friday night
and also lent her voracious vocal talents for the kick-off of the KEITH WHITLEY Commemorative “Double Shot of Country” Tour.
Ashley graced the December 2014 cover of ION. You can read more about the Reo Palm Isle inside this issue in “Venue on the
Menu”.
ION began compiling the first 8 videos set to debut on the inaugural broadcast of JAM ON ION, on the new television network
MY JAM TV! These were hand-picked by this Editor, along with Producer and ION Art Director, JAY PETSKO. Inclusion in this
program is by Editor’s invitation only and candidates are chosen from the many independent artists appearing in current and
past issues of ION. If selected, artists receive a letter notifying them of the opportunity to participate. To find out about My
Jam TV, go to www.myjamtv.com.
As always, ION INDIE MAGAZINE--and its staff of the BEST journalists ANYWHERE--strives to get the music of Independent
artists read about and HEARD; in an entertaining and informative format. We are a completely volunteer project that joins
forces with others in the music industry, in an effort to support local music everywhere. Each month, the music that streams
in our pages is forwarded to our many broadcast affiliates for consideration for their rotations. And now, with the addition of
Jam On ION, we can also provide significant exposure for the videos of the talented artists we feature! We want to acknowledge
our many valued promotional partners that support this initiative…along with you—the readers—for making us the fastestgrowing all genre Indie music publication today!
