THE STEAMTOWN MUSIC AWARDS kicked off THE ELECTRIC
CITY MUSIC CONFERENCE in Scranton, PA, on Friday, October
10TH with the festivities lasting until Sunday! ION was a
proud sponsor of this event and our own Ken Jones was on
hand to capture all the highlights! 100 bands and numerous
venues united in support of Independent music. Many of the
artists taking home awards have appeared in ION Indie
Magazine: Charles Russello (THE RUSSELLO PROJECT/IDOL
KINGS) took the nod for “Guitarist of the Year”, Amanda
Touch (CAUSE OF AFFLICTION) was awarded “Drummer of the
Year”, IDOL KINGS was honored as “Best Tribute Act” and
“Bassist of the Year” went to Grant Williams of GRACES
DOWNFALL. Congratulations to all the participating
musicians and thank you to Joe Caviston and Kenneth Norton
for having the vision and HEART for such a positive and
inspiring event!
