AW: Smaller audiences can be much
more fun than bigger audiences--as long
as you have one thing: engagement.
Being able to really talk to and sing and
dance with a crowd of people of a smaller
size is usually the coolest feeling. When
everyone is into the music as much as you
are, it’s incredible. It’s those moments as
a musician that you live for.
TS: Who was the artist that you listened
to as a youngster, who at that moment,
inspired you to pick up the guitar and
write songs?
AW: I grew up listening to a lot of, what
we now consider, classic/traditional
country music. So, I had a lot of
influences that really spoke to my love for
telling stories via song. However, if I had
to narrow it down to one, I would say
Dolly. As a female in country music who
also is a writer, she is a path maker in the
industry. She can take you on a journey
with a few chords and great lyrics.
TS: Final thoughts, shout outs, parting
statements?
AW: I always have to thank my little but
strong team for everything that they do
for me. It’s not easy to be, or work for an
independent artist, but they give 110%
every day to keep us rolling. My booking
agent Anita Sayago--you are a dream
and an incredible hustler to work with.
You make things happen when most
people couldn’t. To Kiki Plesha, my
amazing publicist, for slaving away for
hours a day on the ever-growing “to-do
list” I keep you busy with. Your fairy magic
is mind blowing! And finally, my family
needs a major thank you because
without them, I wouldn’t even have been
able to start building my career nor would
it be as fun. Tim, I appreciate you taking
the time to talk to me today and hope
that I get to see you again in the future!
Rock on!
