JP: What is the biggest mistake you ever made in the business?
RG: I am going to say this--this is maybe a little off kilter. My biggest mistake--
looking back on things now--is the partying. That’s been my biggest mistake. I
look back on that stuff and say…not some of my proudest moments. I’m only
talking about playing ability. I’m just one of those guys who can’t play all
messed up.
JP: Where do you see the band in two years?
RG: Hopefully two brand new records out by then. Two years from now, I will be
sitting here doing another interview with ION Indie Magazine and we’re gonna
be selling places out and hopefully we’ll be on our third album. This is what we
do.
JP: Do you do any writing on the road?
RG: We do. We went out with some ideas. We get together almost every night
before the gig. We more rewrite on the road. We got this country rock song,
called “Girl’s Night Out”, that we had about 70 percent done before we went out
on the road, and we finished it while we were out.
JP: I always like to give bands an opportunity to add anything they would like or
to address something you may feel I left out. I’m going to give you an open mic.
RG: I think you’ve done a great job. Questions I haven’t been asked in previous
interviews. The one thing I’d like to address is strength in numbers. Go out and
support bands. People who buy records have the power to change lives. Big
thanks to Bill and Lori at HighVol--and all our brothers that are on our label. We’re
truly blessed. We will do all we can to provide you great live entertainment. Just
a big thanks to everyone.
