“The True War”, has features Symphonic echoes, energetic drums, keys, and deep vocals that linger in the
mind—and ears—long after the last note. “What Do You Want From Me?” spotlight some great flute work—
the perfect complement to this song—calls to mind the band IMPERIA—and I call it a potential hit! I hear
the presence of AMARANTHE and EVANESCENCE influences in Lyria’s music…rich and haunting. Gritty
guitars and symphonic vocals--a la EPICA--are apparent in the song “Light And Darkness”. The ballad
“Craven”, with acoustic guitars buoyed by the beautiful vocals of Aline, has a passion that is worthy of a
listen.
Also noteworthy are: “Reflection”--GREAT guitar solo, “Insanity” with its change-ups, heavy guitars and
driving drums, “The Phoenix Cry”…a rockin’ song that builds beautifully and “The Phoenix Rebirth”; which
picks up the pace with its progressive rate, symphonic style and rich vocals.
Lyria creates wonderful music...period. Symphonic Alternative Metal at its finest! Each song stands on its
own and takes the listener on a journey. Surely every female-fronted Metal band lover will be in seventh
heaven listening this album. If you are a fan of EPICA, EVANESCENCE, NIGHTWISH or IMPERIA, you will love
this CD.
