I had been waiting to catch CONNIPTION for some time. I came across their incredible guitar player named
BILL HOUSE at an event I was shooting called PROJECT MAYHEM. He was onstage with another band just
playing around and caught my ear right away. This guy gets jamming and he just sails off into another world.
So when they came back to Northern Wisconsin, I dropped all my plans to come see the full band lay it down.
They played DAT BAR in Merrill, WI, for an 11 year remembrance of the DEJA VU Rock club that had burnt
down. The night started out with the WISFITS, a MISFITS tribute band plus so much more! These guys really
know how to cover the MISFITS songs, as well as play some very good originals! They were followed by one
of my favorite bands, THE GODDAMNS! MITCH and TOM were on fire as they took the small stage and tore
up! Then the last band to play the DÉJÀ VU, took the stage, LED DEVIL. They are what I would call a local
“Super Group” that can really lay it down! Those bands whipped the audience into a frenzy and got it ready
for the headliner, CONNIPTION! All I can say is…WOW! These guys are not your ordinary Metal band--they
are a Metal Symphony! Hard and raw, but at the same time, there is so much talent in these four guys, just
calling them a Metal band doesn’t do them justice! When they played, you could feel the music invade your
spine! Front man MICHAEL BRIGHAM on vocals and guitar is a perfect match to BILL HOUSE and his guitar
wizardry! Then there’s ANDY MARTIN on drums, setting the pace, with CODY DZUIK keeping the beat right
along with him. If you think I am just blowing smoke, check them out! No wonder that they are also the 2014
WAMI winners for “Best Metal Rock Band” as well as nominees for 2012-2013!
