TONY: Listen to other concept albums as well. Listen to any music that goes beyond a
standard radio single. Challenge yourself to actively listen to music for the sake of the
art.
AUSTIN: If you can, play music yourself. String up that old guitar, get out there and
express yourself!
Having heard “Purple” ahead of its release, I can tell you that the passion put into this
project really shines through. Not only does it have the earworm quality of the band’s
previous releases, but it has a sincerity that is a welcome change from the meta, post-
modern shenanigans of current day indie rock. As the summer of 2017 rolls on, the band is
hitting many Midwest festival dates while planning their tour in support of “Purple,” which is
set to be released on June 24, 2017. Do yourself a favor and let Zoo Trippin’ be the life of
your musical party.
