LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Music by ANTHONY KRIZAN “Dust and Bone”
This anniversary edition of ION Indie Magazine is jam packed with captivating content and a few celebratory
spotlights. And I don’t mind saying…we’ve had more than a few issues…12 of them, to be exact!
Inside this issue, ION’s eye is turned toward the Florida-based band BLEEDING IN STEREO—brought to our readers
by Senior Journalist and Broadcast Media Coordinator for ION, JERE PERRY. Learn all about this exceptional band
in these pages!
We have more than a few notable artists participating in this milestone edition—we’ve got FOREIGNER, SIXX: A.M.
(LISA SASSERATH BOEHM), MUSHROOMHEAD, LIVING COLOUR, TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION (MARK MYERS), and THE
DARKNESS (LEE HOFFMAN). Also, ION’s GARY CAROTA brings us in depth coverage of CAROLINA REBELLION. Add
to that, the hottest independent artists today, and you have a recipe for awesomeness!
We are significantly stoked to announce that ION Indie Magazine will be serving as Official Media Partner to the very
first launch of the HUGE festival that will be infiltrating New Hampshire…LACONIAFEST (headliners include STEVEN
TYLER, TED NUGENT and BRET MICHAELS)! Read all about it in this anniversary edition. Additionally, ION was also
a proud partner of the MY JAM TV event in New York City at the legendary venue THE CUTTING ROOM—our first
independent artist series. It was an exceptional night of entertainment served to a packed house! ION’s own JAY
PETSKO was on hand to capture the event for this anniversary issue. Check it out inside!
In closing, I am admittedly overwhelmed by the phenomenal growth of this publication over the last two years. What
started as a “fun little project” has turned into a LIFE FORCE that is recognized as THE source of entertainment and
industry news for independent artists and fans of original music of all genres worldwide. ION Indie Magazine is now
the fastest growing music magazine today. Yet ION has never been about the PRODUCT, but more so, about the
PEOPLE…passionate people—whose dedication is so palpable, that it is felt and embraced by our readership. I am
a grateful editor for this talented staff, each of which, I now call “friend”. They say if you can count your friends on
one hand, you are lucky. Well, I’ve got several “fists full of friends”, so to speak. I guess it’s time to play the lottery!
“Music isn’t what I do…it’s who I am. Music is a life force that beats within. It permeates the senses and
encompasses the spirit. Music transcends. It heals the heart, purges the soul and provides refuge from pain. Music
is immortal” ~The Fairy Rock Mother
