Story and Photography by Daniel Johnson • Dagda Photography • www.facebook.com/DagdaPhotography House of Blues • Boston, MA It was awesome! Let’s just start with that. Besides the “How did he look with them?” question, they sounded fantastic and did not let down the old school (myself included) STONE TEMPLE PILOT fans. I am referring to new front man CHESTER BENNINGTON, also of LINKIN PARK. Not only did he bring some much needed energy to STP, he brought pieces of SCOTT WEILAND for the curios audience. I actually walked right by Chester while he was admiring Fenway Park from the loading area. He was covered in white clothing from head to toe, space-like glasses and pink hair. I didn’t give him a second look. He hit the stage with DEAN and ROBERT DELEO and ERIC KRETZ pounding the drums. They were tight….no surprise. Now step back and forget he is Chester Bennington. The “new guy” wiggled around just like his predecessor and sounded amazing. Dare I say “Weilandesque”? Old tunes and new, STP is back…with a vengeance. http://stonetemplepilots.com/ https://www.facebook.com/stpband
