As you know or may not know, I cover the El Paso local music scene quite a bit. I love shooting and supporting these up and
coming bands. About a month ago, one of these very popular bands called CHASING SOLACE suffered a fire, that was set
intentionally, by whom, we still do not know--it’s still an open case with the police. Everything was destroyed, as in all the
bands equipment. The news of this fire went thru the local scene like a whirlwind, and with that said, a benefit show was put
together on the 9th of May and I had the honor of covering this epic event. Several bands played, such as FALL 2 RISE,
ANDROMEDA THEORY, REVATI and a DEFTONES tribute band called ADRENALINE--to name a few. There was a BBQ grill set
up outside the venue, hamburger and hot dog plates were sold for five dollars apiece, there were prizes raffled off, as in tickets
to upcoming shows, and two guitars--all monies going to the band. Our local Rock station KLAQ was on sight and GLENN
GARZA from the station emceed the entire event. On a personal note, being a part of this really touched my heart, to see all
the support from all these fellow musicians rallying around their brothers in such a time of need.
