In this age of backing tracks, overdubs, and
electronic gadgets used to produce “music”,
fans of true Rock and Roll, fans of no BS, no
gimmicks ROCK ‘N’ ROLL have found what
they’ve been in desperate need of. Purist fans of
Rock ‘n’ Roll now have what they’ve been
demanding--presenting RED SKY MARY.
RSM is a four piece Rock band from the seacoast
of New Hampshire. Yes, the same little New
Hampshire that brought you SULLY ERNA
(GODSMACK), STEVEN TYLER (AEROSMITH),
SETH MEYERS (LATE NIGHT) and ADAM SANDLER
(comedian)…okay, we’re sorry about that last
one.
A hard rocking, hard-working band mixed with
enough talent to compare to the greats. They’re a
mix of AC/DC, AEROSMITH and LED ZEPPELIN,
with lyrics to give DAVID LEE ROTH a run for his
money. That’s pretty high praise for a band that is just now getting the recognition they’ve long deserved
outside of New England. Selfishly I’d like to continue to keep them all to ourselves, keep them playing in the
local pubs, clubs and bars--New England’s little secret. But it’s time to let them go, time for the world to
hear this band. Without a doubt, their new album “River Child”, will punch their ticket to national and world
fame.
The band first headed out to Chicago to record at GROOVEMASTER RECORDING STUDIOS with legendary
producer MATT DOUGHERTY, aka “em_jay_dee”, along with Grammy-nominated producer JOHNNY K. With
this team, it’s no wonder we now have a kick ass, in-your-face Rock album…“River Child”.
“RIVER CHILD”: When was the last time you’ve played a record from start to finish? EVERY track on “River
Child” is full of hard, heavy, soulful, pure Rock ‘n’ Roll. Most artists release albums with “fillers” on them. It
makes me wish that most bands today would just release EPs. Just give us the good stuff! But I can tell you
with 100% certainty, “River Child” has no weak spots and no fillers. It’s truly an album full of hits.
THE TRACKS:
“All Hell’s Breaking Loose”: How often can a Rock song be this bad ass with the hook “Whoo-hoo! All hell is
breaking loose!”? Go ahead, I dare you…listen to it without singing along or tapping your foot. Can’t do it?
I thought not…
Sam shows some swagger in this one, the grit of BON SCOTT mixed with a little screaming STEVEN TYLER-yes please!
“Payback”: Had the opportunity to hear this gem performed live and acoustic at the WHEB studios, home of
GREG AND THE MORNING BUZZ during their morning show. Let’s think about this shall we--It’s barely 8:00
a.m. and these guys did this song the same passion and grit as if it were 8:00 p.m. at a sold-out arena. When
