It’s All I Ever Wanted To Do…

It’s not every day that someone who is drawn to the
shredding guitar sound of POISON, MOTLEY CRÜE and IRON
MAIDEN produces a CD filled with amazing acoustic guitar
melodies. Yet, it’s exactly what DYLAN RYCHE accomplishes
on his debut album titled “Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitar”.
Immediately after a friend of mine showed a YouTube video
of Dylan playing “Smoke Signals”, I had to know how Dylan
conjures up his melodies that bring each note he plays to
center stage.
“My philosophy is simple. It’s ‘melody, melody, melody’. I
was a kid in the 80s, where there was a heavy emphasis on
hooks and melodies. A lot of the melodic sensibilities from
those days have stayed with me. Instrumental guitar is a
genre where I don’t have lyrics or a lead vocal, so the melody
becomes even more important in getting a listener to
engage with my music.”
