We the fans of INGLORIOUS gathered in London for the anticipated launch of the second album from these hard rockers. Frontman NATHAN JAMES is the classic lead singer--with his Leonine appearance and rasping deep throaty voice, that rises effortlessly to the high-pitched screams, reminiscent of GLENN HUGHES. He is backed up by ANDREAS ERIKSSON on lead guitar, new man back again DREW LOWE (guitar), COLIN PARKINSON (bass), PHIL BEAVER (drums). Together, they are an entertaining bunch of lads and fabulous to photograph. After being warmed up by two support bands, GYPSY HEART and MASON HILL, the scene was set for a great evening of music. Inglorious took to the stage with their “Grandstand” theme tune heralding their arrival, and launched straight into the new album, which set the tone for the evening. The new album had been out only a week, but the fans were enthusiastically singing along, already familiar with the songs. The album sounded fantastic being played live--which is how I like my music…LIVE! The evening boiled up nicely--with Nathan taking a leaf out of BRUCE DICKINSON’S book, by shouting on more than one occasion, “Scream for me, Islington!”…putting a smile on my face. Then we had a slowed down segment with Nathan paying tribute to the sad news of CHRIS CORNELL, in which he sung an acoustic cover of “Black Hole Sun”, followed by another cover of the DEEP PURPLE classic “Burn”. At one point of the set, we had Nathan making his way from the back of the hall through the fans, while we were served a double guitar solo on stage. It was a memorable gig which was very well received by the adoring fans, and with Nathan promising the fans an autumn tour with bigger stages to come.
