Musicians arrive here, meet other musicians of similar mind, genre, and vision. They pull together bands and work hard to build their product. When they believe they're ready, they try to book into smaller venues for some paid gigs--but that's where it hits the wall. Most venues already have bands in rotation with proven followings. They aren't going to chance a low or no turnout night for a band that doesn't already have a following. So, the newly formed band now turns to playing for free at showcases or benefit shows, just to be seen and hope for the best. With many others looking for the same opportunity, it's not easy even to play for free. Once you've gotten some of these free gigs and hopefully build at least some fans, you might make another attempt to get into some of the smaller venues. If you're lucky, maybe somebody takes a chance on you. After many years playing in other bands with other musicians and finally joining together in August of 2011, this is the point of progress that I found THREE KILLER BUDS. They had been together, fighting the fight for recognition for over two years at the time. BRIAN OLMSTED (drums/vocals) came to Florida from Santa Maria, California. He was a seasoned veteran, influenced by JOHN BONHAM, LEONARD HAVE, PHIL COLLINS and BUDDY RICH. DAVID DAILEY (guitars/vocals) arrived from Maryland in the 80's and signed with TED SKOREMAN PRODUCTIONS, spending several years on the road. MICHAEL RASHAS (guitars/keys/vocals) is originally from the Ukraine. He draws energy from the stage and from his audience.
