down the piano keyboard at an early age after learning the fundamentals of music. He also
gave woodwinds and brass a try, but gave in to the bass in the 70's. Maurice feels right at
home playing Latin and Smooth, but he finds his comfort zone in Funk and for that, we are
grateful.
LEE HART, the percussionist for The Igniters, started beating the skins at age 15. Lee's
talent has allowed him to play almost every genre of music, from Funk, Classic Rock, R&B,
Reggae, Country and Gospel with some well-known names. Lee is a seasoned "road artist"
and has toured throughout Florida; along with Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky and South
Carolina. Lee has played
at THE BLUE FOUNTAIN
for the NEW YORK METS,
played with the late
DANNY
JOE
BROWN
(former singer for MOLLY
HATCHET) and also with
TEDDY HUFFMAN with
THE GEMS in Philly-where he added to the
R&B
sound
of
their
Gospel. Lee has at times
been the lead backup
drummer for Country star
TRACY LAWRENCE and
also played with Floridabased bands HIP SHOT,
RHYTHM EXPRESS, THE
SURFIN’ RACOONS and
GUNSMOKE. When many
of the local bands find
themselves in need of a
stand-in drummer, Lee
gets the call.
The Igniters don't play around when it comes to music. Their song list consist of
approximately 100 songs, covers and originals, that they routinely play and include such
artists as ROBERT JOHNSON, SLY STONE, ATLANTA RHYTHM SECTION, OTIS REDDING,
SANTANA and WILSON PICKETT.
