glory. I find it be a great contemporary ballad. Not allowing the energy of the CD to be lost, the power surge hits again on “Run The Tank Out”. “This is Life”, lyrically, is well written, while certainly maintaining its rock base. “He Took Beautiful Away” brings the smoothness of Clinton’s vocals to the forefront, while the bass lines of Adam Hall, are brought to the forefront of the song, but the vocals and lyrics are sold by Cunanan, as the song seems to have a grip on him as he delivers it. “Memories” is a song that anyone that has had a relationship that ended and the other person moved on easily while you found it difficult, would identify with. The emotion of the song is delivered in a way that makes you feel as though it’s something that is being lived…and not just sung. “We All Die Alone” kicks the energy into overdrive again, not leaving you behind, but rather taking you along for the ride. While a fast paced song, the guitar work is solid, yet not draining the power from the other components of the song. “On and On” blends a melodic groove in a way that captures the pace and nuances of the vocals. To end the CD, “Holding On (Letting Go)” is just a solid rock song; nothing more, nothing less. Another Lost Year continues to grow and mature musically with “Alien Architect”--which is a very good thing. They have not lost the successful parts of their previous releases, but I would say “Alien Architect” is an enhancement of all of things they have previously done very well. On the JP Rawk Meter, Another Lost Year scores a 4.5 out of 5 stars.
