heightened the connection the audience felt to the bands. In fact, Jack Barakat echoed this sentiment when
he stated, "I love this venue because I can see every single one of your faces."
Also worthy of noting in the “memorable moments for me” category, was when about halfway through All
Time Low's set, Sleeping With Sirens’ guitarist, Jack Fowler, was called out for a "guitar off" against Jack
Barakat, All Time Low’s guitarist--and then the battle between the two “Jacks on Axes” began! It was
hysterical…watching as Jack Fowler effortlessly shredded his guitar while Jack Barakat was accepting his
defeat—with Alex Gaskarth quipping that he was his “least favorite Jack” on tour.
Before the close of the show, Alex Gaskarth addressed the terrible tragedy that occurred in Paris on Friday,
November 13th. He told everyone that when they left tonight to be careful…because there is so much hate
in the world. He told us to most of all, spread love.
For their final song of the night, All Time Low performed their
platinum record hit “Dear Maria”. The crowd erupted--and
burst into spontaneous song from the very first lyric! The
accompanying light show was illuminatingly insane—
punctuated by blue and gold heart-shaped confetti pouring
forth--adding the perfect “exclamation point” to a superb
concert.
If you have the chance to see any of these bands on tour, I
highly recommend going. It will be money well spent. And, I
would be remiss if I didn’t add, that this experience will,
without doubt, be one that I will recall on subsequent
birthdays…
As I’m crowd-surfing through the mosh pit, that is.
