Story and Photography by Timothy Schumann On December 3, 2014, here in El Paso at TRICKY FALLS, REEL BIG FISH stormed into town with their blend of Alternative Ska/Punk music. On the scene for the past 23 years and from Huntington Beach, California, this band has stood the test of time. Songs such as “Cheer up”, “Suckers”, “Sell Out”, and a crowd favorite, “Beer”, had the audience in quite the mood for dancing and a bit of crowd surfing. As for myself, I thoroughly enjoyed this show, simply because AARON BARRETT, their guitarist and frontman, is a sight to see and needless to say, VERY entertaining! This band operated like a well-oiled machine--And when you throw a brass section into the mix--oh yeah, it was an evening of sight and sound, that's for sure! Reel Big Fish has an EP coming out on December 15th, called “Happy Skalidays",--that should make a nice Christmas present for any fan of Ska music in your family. The band is going to take off a few weeks from touring, but will hit the road again in mid-January with LESS THAN JAKE. If by chance, this show has a date in your town, do yourself a favor--put on your dancing shoes and get to the show. And make no mistake, good times will be had by all! http://reel-big-fish.com/ www.facebook.com/ReelBigFish
