ION INDIE MAGAZINE January 2015, Volume 8 | Page 10
When Mixi says it’s going to be a big year for STITCHED UP HEART, and they are
going to have a huge year in 2015, I believe her. If you talked to her for a tenth of the
time that I spent talking to her, you would as well. You hear the sincerity and passion.
You hear the honesty. These things--together with the quality of the list of works-todate--combine to establish a credibility to the drive and success of SUH. Once you
listen to one or two of the current offerings on their website or on their
ReverbNation.com page, that’s all you'll need to know that BIG THINGS are on the
near-horizon for this band. The music is Hard Rock with some catchy-ass riffs (and
hey, riffs are my thing, so I wouldn’t bullshit about that!)
The range and style on the vocals are continuously interesting from breathy, cutesy,
girly-girl sexy (SEXY…shhhh, I don’t think I'm supposed to say that.), to screams that
I couldn’t do. Hell, most of us couldn’t do, if we tried…and I've tried (those of you that
know my band AMERICAN ZER0S, you know I can’t sing and basically yell in key).
This girl, Mixi, she's got pipes! The band? All of these cats have the tools--the goods,
the grove, the sound. Shit, you don’t get to this level if you don't. Hell, you’re reading
this--that means you’re listening now because of ION INDIE MAGAZINE’S
awesome F-ing format. That means that you already know.
