asked about the bands preparation to go live, Chrisman said, “We wanted to make sure that this
time, we would be ready on all fronts (merch, recordings, etc.)”. He continued to say, “We tried to
push ourselves with this effort to break new ground both musically and lyrically.”
Since the release of the bands 2014 self-titled EP, Creature Comforts have worked to make a name
for themselves in the Central Ohio underground scene. They have built a strong local fan base and
are a favorite among touring bands looking for local support. In 2014, they were invited to participate
in “Spring Fling”, a Cleveland-based music festival which featured the likes of A LOT LIKE BIRDS,
FOUR YEAR STRONG, TERROR and ARTIFEX PERERO.
Despite the successes of 2014,
Creature Comforts aren’t resting on
their laurels. In 2016, they plan to
continue playing with locals, as well
as touring bands, as they prepare to
release a new EP. The currently
untitled effort is 5 songs that
display the evolution of the band as
song writers. I spoke to Chrisman
about the process of writing the new
release, and he said, “We always try
to play like we have something to
prove. The day that you stop
progressing and pushing yourself,
is the day you should hang it up in
my opinion. We write songs we love
and love playing. Every time we step
on the stage, whether it’s to 10 or
10,000, we play with the same
emotion and energy every time.”
Creature Comforts also plans to take the show on the road, going on the band’s first ever tour in
support of the EP, which is due for release in February. Check out Creature Comforts at:

Authors note: For the sake of disclosure, I would like to point out the soon to be released EP
referenced above was recorded at the recording studio I own. This in no way effected my decision
to cover the band or the opinions expressed in this article.
