Music by CREATURE COMFORTS “A Common Disposition”
In modern Rock music, certain labels exist that make bands cringe. Being called “Classic” can make
you feel dated. Being “Metal” can scare away a certain potential audience. If you call the wrong Punk
band “Emo”, you better be ready to fight. One title that can be confusing is the notion of Progressive
Rock. As Rock continues to splinter and morph into various subgenres, the term Progressive gets
more ambiguous. Central Ohio rockers CREATURE COMFORTS have taken this idea and given it
more focus. Creature Comforts combines heavy soundscapes with melodic counterpoint that
challenges the listener without appearing condescending.
Fans of DANCE GAVIN DANCE and CIRCA SURVIVE will enjoy the bands passionate brand of
melodic Hard Rock. Guitarist ZACH CHRISMAN and Bassist JARED FRICK combine for a dual
layered vocal assault. Frick’s vocal style is smooth and catchy, providing the perfect balance to
Chrisman’s aggressive approach. Lead guitarist CHRIS POMPEY provides interesting leads, serving
as the glue that connects sections of song that can change mood on a dime. Drummer BEAU SUITER
uses his Metal background to keep Creature Comforts material moving. His methodical approach
will make you wonder if he has experience with Jazz, but he doesn’t because there’s no moshing in
Jazz.
Born from the ashes of a Central Ohio Pop Punk outfit called ALWAYS TEN FEET TALL, Creature
Comforts decided to tackle a more challenging brand of music when they formed. Taking lessons
learned from previous projects, they took a more patient approach to the bands formation. When
