LAST NIGHT’S CIRCUS Story and Photography by Timothy Schumann As you may know, I love to go to these smaller venues and check out the local talent and bands that are paying their dues here in El Paso, Texas--playing wherever and whenever they can--playing to a packed house or to a very small crowd of a dozen people. The bottom line is, they just want to play music. They have a serious passion for it, so with that said, here comes LAST NIGHT’S CIRCUS--this is one of these bands. LAST NIGHT’S CIRCUS has been together now for one year and the name of the band derives from reflections of bad things in the past. The type of music they play is Alternative Indie/Acoustic Rock from the Texas border, which in my opinion, is quite entertaining. Members consist of JAVIER MARTINEZ (vocals/guitar), ENRIQUE CASTANOS (drums), RANDY VEGA (lead guitar/vocals) and FERMIN NUNEZ (bass). Influences are bands such as NEUTRAL MILK HOTEL, FRIGHTENED RABBIT, NIN, SMASHING PUMPKINS and THE 1975. They have three videos on YouTube and two EPs on Bandcamp; “Walking” and “Lo-Fi Party”. At the end of February, they're off on an eight day tour of Texas with another local called THEORY ROOM, and upon their return, it’s in the studio to record their first CD. Needless to say, these guys are busy and are doing whatever they can to make a name for themselves--not that they're not well known here in El Paso, but they have the right attitude and talent to make it as a power to be reckoned with in the music business. https://lastnightscircus.bandcamp.com/ www.reverbnation.com/lastnightscircus
