ION INDIE MAGAZINE February 2015, Volume 9 | Page 4
February is a month of recognizing those we love. For me, that would include the magnificent staff of ION
INDIE MAGAZINE, for they give of their time—and hearts—unselfishly, because they LOVE Indie music. Thank
you, staff, for another fantastic issue and all you do to promote Independent music!
For this “on fire” issue of ION, our international journalist, KAT ZEE, shares her love for Symphonic Metal
with our readers…and has chosen the Greek Metallers ENEMY OF REALITY to represent this genre. Inside
this issue you will find her review of EOR’S debut CD “Rejected Gods”, along with her fascinating interview
with lyric soprano and front woman ILIANA TSAKIRAKI. Read all about this bold band with the big sound
from “across the pond”--and why their star is a fast-rising one!
This Editor is feeling the “love” this February from one of
the artists that have been featured in the magazine…in
fact, UNDERCOVER BETTY graced the very first cover of
ION. UCB presented me with this Limited Edition “Kiki
Bear”, along with their hard-rockin’ EP. Unlike flowers,
music is eternal and the thought is sweeter than a box of
chocolates. This Fairy’s heart is a-flutter! And speaking
of UCB, our correspondent TOM PARRISH (SHARK ALLEY
RECORDS) begins his series of reports on SHARKFEST
’15, taking place early this month in Florida. TOM is not
only the organizer of this massive festival, but also
manager to UCB. TOM is a champion for Independent
artists and works tirelessly to provide opportunities for them to be heard and seen. Read all about the
impressive lineup that TOM has assembled for this prestigious event, sponsored by ION, natch!
Once again, the ION family has grown! This month we are welcoming photojournalist extraordinaire, LEE
HOFFMAN to the team. Residing in New York, LEE debuts in this issue with two photo layouts, capturing with
his lens the bands MY ENEMIES AND I and AS SUMMER DIES. Check out LEE’S website at: buffalo24.com
to view more of his exceptional photography!
As you page through this “labor of love” February issue, remember to show some love to the many
Independent artists that appear inside this edition. Stop by their FACEBOOK pages and give them a “like”,
would ya? And while you’re at it, give yourself a big hug from us for supporting ION INDIE MAGAZINE. For it
is you, our readers, which have made us the fastest growing all-genre Independent music magazine online
today!
